Remedies for forlorn lawns

11 April 2011

Grass with class will be the focus of a free workshop at Hollard Gardens, Kaponga, on Sunday (17 April).

Led by turf expert Craig Hitchcock, the two-hour workshop will include tips and advice on the  creation, maintenance and rejuvenation of any type of lawn.

“Whether you have a pocket lawn in town or an expanse in the country, it’ll be a most useful session. ” says the Taranaki Regional Council’s Regional Gardens Manager, Greg Rine.

“If you’ve got any problems or issues with your lawn, come along with your questions – photos might be helpful too. Craig Hitchcock is New Plymouth District Council’s Head Groundsman at Pukekura Park, and has a wealth of experience.”

Sunday’s workshop, which begins at 2pm, will also include the use of tools for lawn care, and workshop participants will inspect lawns at Hollard Gardens, which is at 1686 Upper Manaia Road, Kaponga.

The workshop is part of a year-round programme of free public events at Hollard Gardens,  as well as Pukeiti and Tupare, two other heritage properties owned and managed by the Taranaki Regional Council on behalf of the people of the region.
