The Taranaki Regional Council provides the Chair, Deputy Chair and policy advice and administrative support for the Regional Transport Committee for Taranaki.
The Committee is is made up of representatives of the region’s four Councils, the New Zealand Transport Agency, a member representing cultural interests and one member representing each of the five objectives in the Government’s New Zealand Transport Strategy.
The objectives are Safety and Personal Security, Public Health, Economic Development, Access and Mobility and Environmental Sustainability.
