This map displays the current rainfall situation at Council-monitored sites across the Taranaki region:
- Click on the icon at each site for more details.
- Click on the link in the navigation panel at right for rainfall data from the previous month and the year to date.
Rainfall data is automatically sent from 25 remote rainfall monitoring sites back to a council computer database every 30 minutes. The latest hourly and half-hourly data is analysed and published to the website at approximately 15 and 45 minutes past each hour. Please note that timestamps are in NZST (one hour behind during daylight saving), and for rainfall data - the timestamp indicates the start of the half hour period being displayed.
