Information for business and industry

The Taranaki Regional Council has produced an Environmental Management Guide to assist businesses and industry to improve environmental performance and prevent pollution.

Everyone has a responsibility to protect our environment. Businesses too need to be aware of their potential for pollution, and some, because of the nature of their work, need to be especially vigilant. This guide is designed to help businesses to prevent pollution on their sites, to protect the environment and to ensure their good reputation for environmental responsibility.

The guide contains information on:

  • Drainage
  • Storage
  • Spills
  • Air
  • Waste Minimisation and Cleaner Production
  • Soil Contamination.

This Environmental Management Guide includes checklists to help you assess your site for actual and potential pollution, and examples of an action plan and spill guide. Fact sheets tailored to the requirements of your particular business are also available.

To open these documents you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader.
