This map displays the current rainfall situation at 18 sites across the Taranaki region.

The rainfall data is automatically downloaded on the hour and half hour. The map is produced from the data within 10 minutes of downloading.

The Taranaki Regional Council maintains a network of 25 rainfall monitoring sites throughout the region which measure rainfall at five minute intervals. The rainfall record is automatically sent back to the Council's Stratford office to be stored and analysed in a computer database.
