Commentary
Rainfall for July was well above normal, with monitored sites recording between 148% and 222% of normal. The region experienced a number of bad weather systems from the north, which caused the Met Service to issue five rain warnings during the month. Met Service had issued only seven rain warnings for the first six months of the year. Of interest is that Inglewood was the wettest town for the month recording 467.5mm. Stratford was extremely close, recording 466.5mm of rain for July.

Commentary
Due to the deluge in July, the year-to-date totals are now looking like they should for this time of year, with sites now being between 82% and 114% of normal rainfall. Patea and Uriti are the sites that have received the least rainfall compared to their normal totals.
