The Taranaki Regional Council is involved in planning and preparing for a whole range of emergencies in the region and for co-ordinating risk-reduction, readiness, response and recovery.
The Taranaki CDEM Group has responsibility for civil defence emergency management in the region and is administered by the Taranaki Regional Council. The Council also responds to pollution incidents including oil spills.
