South Taranaki bus trial

Three new once-a-week passenger transport services have begun in the South Taranaki District on a trial basis to gauge public support. The trial has been extended until the end of June 2009.

Pickerings transport, based in Opunake, operate the two Opunake services, while Weir Bros, based in Hawera, operate the Waverley-Hawera service.

For any additional information on these services, or to obtain a copy of a timetable, please call the Taranaki Regional Council on (06) 765 7127. Timetables are also available from your bus driver, the South Taranaki i-SITE Visitor Centre, all South Taranaki Library Plus centres, the South Taranaki and New Plymouth District Council offices, the Oakura Library, the Ariki Street Bus Station in New Plymouth, and Puke Ariki.

Movies timed for South Link passengers

Hawera Cinema 2 is scheduling two movies every week to coincide with the Thursday bus services coming in from Waverley and Opunake. Both movies will screen at 10.45am, approximately 20 minutes after the buses arrive in town.
