The fourth in a series of reports assessing Taranaki’s progress towards achieving the desired outcomes of the community. Overall, good progress has been, in particular towards the goal of achieving a prosperous and sustainable region. However, a number of issues still persist, such as the crime rate, recorded road injuries and the number of individuals leaving school with no formal qualifications.

Future Taranaki - A Report on Community Outcomes for Taranaki - published 2004
This report outlines the community outcomes that the people of Taranaki have identified for the region. Each of the seven outcomes identified, along with the community’s view of importance and the priority of each. The report also includes with a description of the process that the councils and other organisations will undertake to monitor and report on progress towards those outcomes, as required under the Local Government Act.
